Abstract

This research examines the application of

virtue ethics

as a framework for understanding daily social media use. Unlike ethical theories that focus on consequences or rules, virtue ethics emphasizes the cultivation of character and moral virtues. Drawing on the work of

Aristotle, particularly his concept of

  eudaimonia

—or the pursuit of a flourishing life—this study aims to demonstrate how social media users can act with moral wisdom. The paper employs a

qualitative methodology, analyzing existing scholarly literature to argue that a user's moral character, rather than mere obligation, should guide their digital behavior. Ultimately, the paper concludes that the pursuit of wisdom in the digital sphere is a critical area for further investigation.
